For a 15th wedding anniversary, the traditional gift is crystal, so I thought it would be creative to book an overnight in a lighthouse for Jen and I since traditional lighthouses often have a crystal fresnel lense to focus the lamp. Romanitic right? I know!

... but with better outcome, because this time we made it!
We arrived late afternoon for our water shuttle to the lighthouse. A short boat trip and we were climbing the ladder to the cement casing the lighthouse is situated on. The owner gave us a quick tour and some history and then was off. We were on our own in the middle of the bay.
We brought food to cook in the semi equipped kitchen and had a nice dinner on the patio. We watched a beautiful sunset and as dusk settled in, we did too in the living area. Jen read a book and I perused the selection of DVD movies - The Little Mermaid, Master and Commander, In the Heart of the Sea, The Lighthouse - notice a theme?
The bedroom is on the top floor under the light room. We set off too bed and made sure to wake in time for the sunrise.
